City Tour: Candi Palgading

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

When you only have 24 hours of holiday, this is what happened to me. LOL. A little escape to neighbor land and voila, a beautiful scenery of mini temple greeted us; please welcome to Candi Palgading (Palgading Temple). Candi Palgading located in a small village, called Dusun Palgading, Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta, with no car access entry and still in solid soil; so better avoid during rainy days, seriously. This Buddhist architecture believed that in the past (Mataram Kingdom), the temple used both as worship place and pendopo.

The first excavation was when Dutch people still in Indonesia, and stopped and began the excavation journeys in 2011/2012 by Indonesian government and ended in 2016. The government believes that Candi Palgading is still large and need more excavation, but because of limited fund to buy the land from native peoples, the excavation process should be stop. But still, even though the temple is smaller than Borobudur and Prambanan temples, I can still enjoy the story (you can read on the board information) and the view itself. For a short time vacay, it's definitely a yaaiiiy! Plus, you got to get cool photos, so nothing waste, no?
